"Just wait until every devs makes trash games with microtransactions"
"Xbox and its fanboys are killing the industry."

You mean like the microtransactions in Gran Tourismo 7?

They'll need more than that, this is all that's on the horizon:

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - May 12th, 2023
Pikmin 4 - 2023
Metroid Prime 4 - TBA

I was actually really excited for this before it came out. Thought you would start with low level villains and Square would add increasingly spectacular ones as time went on, up to Thanos or Galactus level villains. But as far as I can see you're still just fighting the same robot things and they've just reskinned a few of the Avengers, several years later.

I think if done right this could have been great but man, they just didn't care.

Same. Although we do get full refunds and get to keep the hardware. So that's nice.

This would be excellent to see in Nintendo's next gen console but I can't see that happening. My money is on us seeing Breath of the Wild Ultra Mega HD and Mario Odyssey Slightly Better Resolution Edition on the next Nintendo console.

"The thing is no one is comparing to God of War or Elden Ring"

You are. You're saying you want a Sonic GotY contender, God of War and Elden Ring are GotY contenders.

What Sonic games actually have been groundbreaking since the first one? None. 7 out of 10 is a good score, nobody is shouting from the rooftops that Sonic is back, it's just a good score and I would have a lot more faith in those reviews than ...

7s and 4 out of 5s are good scores. I understand what you mean, I would kill for a GotY Sonic game but at the same time, just because it's not up there with Ragnorak and Elden Ring doesn't mean it's a bad game. You can have a good game that isn't the best game of the year as well.

"I had a feeling this was going to turn out crap though."

It has plenty of 7s and 4 our of 5s though, I wouldn't base my entire opinion on a clickbait review.

"Anyway I’m glad it hasn’t done well"

A 7 out of 10 is a bad score now? It's getting a few sevens and four out of fives as well as a few low scores, much better than I thought it would do. Why would you hope for a bad game??

Edit: thought I saw an 8, must have been a four out of five.

I used to think like you until I got the Steam Deck and started using GG Deals, Humblebundle etc and have been seeing some amazing digital deals. Picked up 10 Resident Evil games for less than €30, that's including the recent remakes. See fantastic digital deals everyday now so I won't be missing physical and the hassel of trading in old games etc.

It could possibly be that the base gameplay itself is of a much higher quality than MW2? There's more to videogames than story.

He says it in literally the second paragraph as well. I'll never understand how people can be so lazy as to not read an article before commenting.

@ Jjb1981

Yeah, Microsoft and Sony both added $10 to the price of their games due to an increase in licencing fees at the time:

"In the early 2000s, PS2, original Xbox, and Gamecube games cost a uniform $50. When the next generation of consoles was introduced, licensing fees increased by an average of about $10, so companies simply tacked the additional cost onto what they previously had been charging.

While in reality, most games...
